New York Farm to School Summit
Educator Scholarship
The inaugural New York Farm to School Summit will bring together stakeholders who are interested and enthusiastic about how connecting local foods in our classrooms and cafeterias. Educators, farmers, school administrators, and food service directors will have targeted and thoughtful sessions designed to help anywhere in their Farm to School journey – from those just starting, to the most experienced.
Educators are eligible to earn a scholarship to cover their cost of registration to the attend the Summit. Workshops specifically for teachers to expand their classroom engagement and inclusion of food are featured heavily in the program, and teachers are able to earn up to 13 CTLE credits.
The New York Farm to School Summit will be held November 21-22, 2024 at the OnCenter in Syracuse. Learn more about the conference, review the agenda, speakers, and the keynote here.
Included in the Scholarship
- New York Farm to School Summit full registration ($160 value)
- Locally sourced breakfast and lunch on both November 21st and 22nd
- Access to the workshops, keynotes, panels, the trade floor, and networking opportunities
- Up to 13 CTLE credits
- Please note: Travel and overnight lodging are NOT included in this scholarship
Eligibility
- New York State certified Pre-K through 12 teachers; all subject areas
- Currently teaching in a New York school
- Curiosity to start or grow a Farm to School presence in your school
- Interest in finding inspiration and the increased ability and frequency of teaching about and through agriculture
- Commitment to identifying resources to integrate agriculture in core instruction during the formal school day
Selection
- Teachers will be selected based upon the merit of their application
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. It is suggested to submit your application early!
- Scholarship winners will receive a special code to register for the conference. Reimbursements will not be processed.
