2016 Teacher of the Year

New York Agriculture in the Classroom (NYAITC) is pleased to announce the selection of Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz as the 2016 Teacher of the Year. Lisa will be represents NYAITC as a model educator who incorporates agriculture as a context for learning in her secondary classes at Bridgehampton School located in Bridgehampton, NY on the east end of Long Island. Judiann's students are continuously exposed to agriculture while using robotics concepts to create precision-seed technology to seed their garden beds, and work to determine how to power irrigation systems to their school greenhouses. We are proud that Judiann was selected as a winner of the USDA Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture Award at the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in June.
